Freedom of the Seas – Royal Caribbean
Freedom of the Seas Overview and AP Status 2025
Freedom of the Seas hit the waves in 2006 as the first of Royal Caribbean’s Freedom-class ships. At the time, it was the biggest cruise ship out there. It can carry around 4,370 guests at double occupancy, and up to 4,515 when fully booked. The ship got a major makeover in 2020, adding cool stuff like the FlowRider surf simulator, a revamped pool deck, and new dining spots.
These days, Freedom of the Seas mostly sails out of Florida, hitting up the Caribbean and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay. It’s got a laid-back vibe with plenty to do—think rock climbing, mini-golf, and even an ice-skating rink. Whether you’re looking to chill by the pool or catch a Broadway-style show, there’s something for everyone on board.
