Carnival Valor is operated by Carnival Cruise Line, part of Carnival Corporation & plc. The Conquest-class ship was built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone, Italy, and entered service in December 2004 after being floated out on March 27, 2004 and christened by Katie Couric that December.

Dining on Valor follows a classic-Carnival formula: two main dining rooms named Washington and Lincoln, plus a mix of specialty and casual venues. In June 2025, Valor completed a comprehensive dry dock in Europe that added the new WaterWorks park and a Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge and refreshed a variety of public areas before sailing back to its homeport of New Orleans.
