Carnival Splendor is operated by Carnival Cruise Line, part of Carnival Corporation & plc, and sails under the Panamanian flag. She was built by Fincantieri in Italy and entered service in 2008, a one-off design in the fleet often described as the Splendor class.

In terms of size, the ship measures about 113,300 gross tons, runs roughly 952 feet in length with a beam around 116 feet, and typically sails with 3,012 guests at double occupancy served by about 1,150 crew. Those figures put Splendor firmly in the large-ship category for mainstream cruising.

Dining spans roughly a dozen venues anchored by two main dining rooms, the Lido Marketplace buffet, and a mix of complimentary and specialty spots. Notable options include Guy’s Burger Joint, the Australia-favorite Masala Tiger that’s unique to Splendor, Pizzeria del Capitano, Seafood Shack, JavaBlue Café, and the Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse, plus extras like The Chef’s Table on select sailings. Beyond restaurants, the ship focuses on easygoing fun with staples like multiple pools, the retractable-roof Splendido Lido area with a big Seaside Theater screen for “Dive-In Movies,” WaterWorks, the adults-only Serenity retreat, kids’ and teens’ clubs, a full casino, and Playlist Productions shows. Wellness fans gravitate to the Cloud 9 Spa, which features thermal-suite amenities and, on this ship, a thalassotherapy pool.
