Casino Review
The MSC Seashore Casino is located midship on Deck 7 and is integrated directly into the deck’s public spaces. This central location makes the casino easy to reach from nearby bars and corridors.
The size and capacity are above average for a ship in this class: the casino covers around 12,217 sq ft (≈ 1,135 m²) and is designed for 182 slot machines and 12 table games.
The gaming lineup at the Signature Casino includes roulette, blackjack, baccarat, craps, and poker variants (including Three Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em). Slot titles and table limits are finalized onboard and may vary by itinerary, demand, and season.
The casino is integrated into the ship’s New York theme. It reads like a mini Times Square, complete with a replica of the Statue of Liberty at the heart of the gaming area. The space opens vertically, creating visual connections between the lower and upper levels. That vertical openness gives the corridor through the casino a notably airy feel for a cruise ship.
Payment is cashless via the Cruise Card, as is standard onboard. After embarkation, the card is activated with a credit/debit card or a cash deposit; according to MSC, accepted cards include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and Diners Club. All wagers and beverages in the casino are charged to your onboard account and, if you have a card on file, settled automatically at the end of the voyage.
The age requirement is clear: you must be at least 18 to gamble in the onboard casino; on Alaska itineraries, the minimum is 21. MSC points to its Guest Conduct Policy as the governing document onboard. Local laws may impose stricter rules; when in doubt, the day-of onboard notices apply.
There are no fixed opening hours, since operations depend on legal requirements (including international waters) and the daily schedule. What’s reliable is this: the current hours are listed in the daily program and in the MSC for Me app (which also shows short-notice updates). On MSC’s private island Ocean Cay, the casino is generally open; reports indicate that slots sometimes run continuously, while table games typically open in the afternoon and stay open late into the night. Specific hours vary by sailing and are set onboard only.
Regarding smoking: MSC designates interior spaces as non-smoking by default; the only exception is the casinos during opening hours, and only for guests who are seated and actively playing. In practice, that means smoking is usually not allowed at table games and, if permitted at all, only in clearly marked zones within the slots area; violations can be sanctioned. Official onboard postings and crew guidance remain authoritative.
Practical notes & usage
- The number of open tables depends on demand and time of day; expect heavier crowds during peak periods (after shows and dinner). When demand is sufficient, table games can run late into the night, and slots often operate even later. Only the posted onboard notices and the app are authoritative.
- Slots outside the main casino: The Seashore’s Sports Bar features additional non-smoking slot machines—useful when the main area is busy or if you prefer smoke-free play.
- Ocean Cay days: MSC indicates that onboard casinos may remain open while the ship is at Ocean Cay; in some cases, slots operate all night. Full details are provided exclusively in the daily program.
