Princess Cruises has operated since 1965 and is marketed as a premium cruise line built around destination-focused vacations and a large-ship onboard experience. The brand also continues to highlight its long-running association with The Love Boat as a recognizable piece of its identity.

A major recent focus is the “Sphere Class” newbuild platform delivered by Fincantieri. The first ship, Sun Princess, was delivered in February 2024, and the shipbuilder describes it as LNG-powered.
